Decorating your home with throw cushions will make it look very comfortable and cozy, and you can just place them on sofas, day beds, in your bedroom or in any cushion chairs. Usual cushions are available in many stores and many will have such cushions at home, and to make your cushion something different you can design them with simple materials to make it look unique.

Appliqué work:

This is one of the easiest ways to design your cushion with patterns that you wish it had. Simply cut any fabric into desired shapes and then you can sew them onto the cushion cover. This is can be easily maintained and washable too.

Satin ribbon bow:

Girls love satin ribbons and bows so much that every frocks that we once owned during childhood days had a beautiful large bow in it, isn’t it? Why don’t you make the cushion at home look girly too? Tie the cushion with a large bow and attach a stone button or pendant in the center.

Button design:

If you had a collection of buttons at home, then you can make use of them in designing your cushion. Just stitch these buttons in any specific shapes or simply attach them randomly on the cushion.

Doily cushion:

This cushion design will look very simple and elegant as it will look netted and beautiful. You can attach the doily to the cushion and the designing work is just over. It is easy and simply to do as the design in the doily will make it look good.

Embroidery work:

If you are capable of doing embroideries then you can create beautiful patterns on the cushions with colorful embroidery work. This is cost effective and will look very lavish when done along with some sequins and stones.

Felt work:

Cut small shapes with felt and you can sew them on the cushion to make it look cute and colorful. You can also make plush work with felt and attach them to the cushion as a centerpiece to make it look different.

Lace work:

This is one of my favorite cushion designs as it will look very beautiful, and like a little girl’s frock. Attach layers of lace material on the cushion and you can add flowers to it along with some beads or just leave it with just the laces, as it will look very cute.

Organza flowers:

Buy ready made organza flowers form the art stores or make one by your own by cutting petals and then attach them in layers with a bead at the center. You can attach these shiny and decorative organza flowers to the cushion along with a sating strip at the background to make it look highlighted.

Pom pom cushion:

This is a simple and lovely looking with tiny pom poms attached along the border of the cushion. You can also make use of pom poms to form lovely designs in the center, as it will look soft and cuddly.
