Procedure
Now that you have all the materials that you will need, you can now proceed to the construction proper. The first thing that you need to remember when it comes to making your own pedestal for the washer and dryer would be the measurements. You have to make sure that the pedestal will definitely fit the machine itself.
Next, you have to rebuild some of the flooring for this project. To do this, you need glue and some 3 inch screws. Look at the diagram above to see how it’s done. Basically, you need to create double mini floors for the pedestal as well as center joists which can be placed at the bottom floor. However, this last part is optional.
The next step that you should focus on is decking. You can do this by screwing the plywood on top of the two by fours.

For the trim, you have to make sure that it fits the legs exactly. To do this, you need to get the exact measurements of the legs. Use tape measure. In addition, you have to miter the trim around the legs for a perfect fit.
For a more finished look, you can use another layer of plywood for the pedestal. You can use a table saw and wood filler for this.
