There are many who are particularly fond of distressed furniture and this reminds me a famous saying “ with age comes beauty”. Though am particularly not much towards this special liking for distressed furniture and after I came across a few homes with such antique look furniture then I thought, maybe why not try one at home.
Now after going through various collections I think that I too have fallen within the spell of the distressed furniture. Have a look at these samples below and it will make you say that you are interested in it too. If you are already a fan of distressed types then absolutely this one will attract you.
At times there are these specific kind of furniture at home that must’ve passed on for ages through generations and we favor them in name of antique collection, but many make the new ones look old by bringing the distressed looks. If you are particularly of that category and looking forward to make your new one turn old, then it’s very simple. By just rubbing with sand paper you can achieve the old tarnished looks.
You can make use of sand paper to scrape off the paint from already painted furniture at the corners to bring the desired looks, as the corners will look old and the remaining potion will look good enough. There is also another way to achieve this as you can paint the furniture with white distressed paint in even strokes and let it dry for sometime and then scrape it with sand paper and then again paint in the opposite direction and again follow the same procedure. This will make the furniture look old and antique.
You can also try removing the paint in certain areas like drawers and center of the furniture to expose the wood to make it look aged and this closet is one such example where the drawers are scraped with sand paper to get the desired looks.
Look at this pretty baby pink side drawers beside your bed, and it will look very cute not only because of its aged looks but the pretty color adds more beauty. Aren’t girls fond of pink? And this one is especially for all the girls out there who love distressed furniture.
These are some of the pretty examples of the lovely distressed furniture that you can own at home, if you don’t have one, then create one on your own.
