DIY Rossette Lampshade: How to Make Your Own

If you want to have a unique lampshade for your own bedroom, you came to the right place.  We’ll try to give you a step by step guide as to how you can make your own DIY Rossete lampshade.

Before starting anything, you have to gather the materials that you will need.  Here are some of the materials as follows:

Materials

  • Cotton fabric
  • Glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Coordinating thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Lampshade

Steps

Now that you have the materials that you need, you can now proceed to making the project itself.  First, you have to cut the cotton fabric by 2 inches.  These should make strips of fabric to be used later.  Lengths may vary.

The next step is to sew down the center of each strip.  You can do this by using the longest thread stitch on your sewing machine.

Pull one of the threads on each side of this strip to create a gather.  Start making the rosette by rolling a single end of the strip inward. After this, you can continue rolling the loose end of the strip until you create a circle with the straight end of the strip.  Do not stop until it resembles a Rosette in the center.

Upon finishing one Rosette, put some glue on the back using a glue gun.  Be careful not to touch the glue itself so that you won’t burn yourself.

Stick it to the lampshade using the same glue gun.

Repeat the process until you are able to fill the entire lampshade covering.  Use smaller Rossettes to fill in the smaller spaces and the bigger ones to fill up more space on the lampshade.  If you can do this successfully, you will have made your very own Rossette lampshade that can definitely give additional beauty to your own bedroom.

If you’re able to follow the instructions correctly, you’ll be able to make a beautiful lampshade that can last for a very long time.  Make sure that the lampshade does not easily break down when used.  This way, it will still work fine even if you stick as many Rossettes as you want in the future.
