If you want to turn your photos into your own canvas art work, it is important for you to read this article. We will give you an ad as to how you can do it without much difficulty so that you can add it to your own personal collection in the near future.

Materials Needed

Before we go any further, you will need to gather some materials. These are as follows:

  • An empty canvas
  • Decoupage mediums
  • Scissors or any other tools for cutting paper
  • Bond paper
  • Photo printer
  • You may also use the photo editing software from your own computer to help the process along.

Procedure

Now that you have gathered all the materials needed, you can now proceed to making your very own photo canvas. Here are some of the specific steps that you should follow:

  • First, you have to open up the photo on your computer and resize it to be large enough to fit your canvas. For best results, you have to use a high resolution photo for a clearer view.
  • Secondly, if you have a canvas that is larger than the piece of paper you are going to print it on, it would be best for you to zero break your picture in sections. You can do this by dividing your picture into large segments using your photo editing software. This way, it would be easier for you to stick it onto the canvas later on.
  • Third, you have to just print all of your pictures out.
  • After this, you can cut out all of your segments using your scissors or any cutting tool. Then, place them next to one another to form the larger picture. Put them next to the canvas to see if they fit.
  • Once you have all the pieces ready, you have to prepare canvas next. Get your paint brush and dip it into your decoupage. After this, you can apply a layer of it onto your canvas.
  • Now you can begin laying out all of the pieces onto the canvas itself. You may smooth out all the air bubbles as you do this. If you want, you can choose to leave them on for a more edgy effect.
  • After doing this, you can add another layer of decoupage to keep it in place. It will also add a bit of shine to your own canvas for a more painted effect.
  • Lastly, you should let your project dry for about 24 hours. As soon as it is dry, you can let it hang on one of the walls in your house for display.

This will certainly be one of the best decorations you can have in your own house because you’ll be making it yourself. Because of this, you will be able to revel in this accomplishment in the future.
