Materials Needed

Before we begin, you have to know the materials that you need to have in order to successfully create your very own bathroom mirror. These are the materials needed as follows:

  • 1½ inches by 2 inches pine molding
  • Interior wood gel stain
  • Quick dry finish
  • Adhesive
  • Caulking gun
  • Painter’s tape

Procedure

The first step that you should do is to make sure that you are able to cut and measure the molding of the mirror first. After this you can proceed to cutting the molding into strips you can fit around the edges of the mirror itself.

After this, you can stain just outside the edges of the mirror. Use the same gel stain for the sink cabinets because this part will be visible from behind the mirror.

The next step would be to apply adhesives to on the back of the strip at the bottom.

Put the strip flush towards the mirror and place a few shims in between gaps. You can use the furring strip to fasten the whole contraption to the wall firmly. Next, you can utilize the painter’s tape to further fasten this strip in its place.

Repeat the same process for the other three furring strips so that you can form the frame properly. Always make sure that the stained edge would be just outside the whole mirror and the strips would be flush against the mirror.

Wait for the liquid nails to dry up. After this, remove the painter’s tape so that you can adhere the molding to the furring strips. This time, you should add the egg he save in front of the furring strips. This will make it invisible and not reflected in the mirror.

Make sure that the molding is properly leveled to create balance. Check to see if everything holds in place. Add tape to secure it some more if necessary. Let the liquid nails dry up and you are done for the day!

These are just some of the few easy steps to follow in order to make your very own bathroom mirror frame. It is definitely not that easy to do but with the help of your ingenuity and some hired muscle, you will certainly be able to do it in no time.
