DIY Coffee Filter Star for Christmas Tutorial

I fell in love with all the many coffee filter projects that exploded in blogland. So today i will be sharing my DIY Coffee Filter Star for Tutorial . I’ve been wanting to do a coffee filter wreath but given the holiday season, I decided to make a coffee filter Christmas star.DIY-coffee-filter-star

Here’s another treasure for me that was originally destined to the dumpster by others. See the rusts and uninviting paint? Yep, these are the reasons why. christmas-crafts-with-coffee-filter

I’m not a coffee drinker but I went ahead and bought these coffee filters at Costco for only $2.95.diy-crafts-with-coffee-filters

I folded the filter into four. Applied some glue. I then tuck it on the metal star.glue-to-use-for-coffee-filter-craftsIt feels great to see the little by little transformation of the outcast star. It’s starting to become a beauty at this stage.Diy-Fluffy-Star-made-with-coffee-filters

A little tangent: This glue is totally awesome. I saw many people did a coffee filter project using glue gun but since I don’t have a tolerance for getting burned, I opted to use Fabri-Tac. It glued the filters so quickly that no single filter fell off within a minute of being stuck to the star.Diy-coffee-filter-Star-tutorial

See how fluffy and cute it has become? My only concern was the filters were so spread out that the natural shape of the star is not showing the way it should be.DIY-STAR-witth-coffee-filters-how-to

I needed to contain the filters within the star shape so I put a tape around it.  I then trimmed the filters to make them even.

Now the outcast became a lovely addition to our wall.coffee-filter-christmas-crafts-ideas

On the other hand, how about putting it up on our little “mantel” with our $4 Goodwill Christmas tree? (Note: we don’t have a fireplace so I designate our hallway console as our mantel.)Coffee-filter-star-for-christmas-decoration

I hope your are enjoyed  my DIY Coffee Filter Star for Christmas Tutorial ! For now, I’ll settle hanging it up on our wall and I might switch it to decorate our “mantel” on the days up ahead leading to Christmas.
